S.S.C Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and ‘D’ Exam

Staff Selection Commission of India conducts the Combined All India Open Examination for the recruitment of Grade ‘C’ and ‘D’ Stenographers to fill in the vacancies incurred in SSC. Those who clear the written exam can expect employments in SSC as Stenographers. The Stenographer’s examination is held in many centers across India. Applicants can appear for the test in their nearby test center.

Structure and Pattern of the S.S.C Stenographer Exam

It is an objective type test, which encompasses questions on general intelligence and logical reasoning. An English Language and Comprehension test is also carried out as part of the examination, which will be only in English medium. In the written exam, questions on common awareness will also be included. There will be 200 questions in the test. Aspirants have to complete the test within 150 minutes. The medium of instruction for the test will be in English as well as Hindi.

Those who clear the written test by scoring the qualifying marks may have to attend a Stenography skill test. In the Stenographer ‘C’ Grade test, candidates ought to have typing speed of 100 words per minute and should complete the English typing test in 40 minutes and Hindi typing test in 55 minutes. The Stenographer ‘D’ Grade test will last for 50 minutes for English typing and 65 minutes for Hindi typing. Aspirants have to type 80 words per minute for the Grade ‘D’ test.

Qualification Criteria for the S.S.C Stenographer Exam

The pre-requisite criterion to apply for the Stenography test is a pass in the intermediate exam or equivalent. Aspirants are supposed to have completed their +2 from a recognized Board or institute. In addition, they should come within the age group of 18 – 27 years as on the notification date.

Application Procedure for the S.S.C Stenographer Exam

The notification for the Grade ‘C’ and ‘D’ Stenographer’s test will be published in prime employment newspapers along with the application format. Aspirants have to send forms in the prescribed format to the Staff Selection Commission of India after duly filling the forms. They can send forms in person or by post to the SSC prior to the last date. Other wise, applicants can submit the online forms by logging on to the official website of SSC and following the series of steps therein.
