Food Rajasthan Gov In, food.rajasthan.gov.in, Rajasthan govt food scheme

Food Rajasthan Gov In, food.rajasthan.gov.in, Rajasthan govt food scheme, Rajasthan govt food scheme not to help BPL families, says BJP

Jaipur: Opposition BJP today said the food security scheme for BPL families launched by the Rajasthan government was "just to take credit and not to benefit the poor."
"The state government launched the scheme yesterday in a hurry just to take credit and not to benefit the poor," BJP whip in Rajasthan Assembly Rajendra Rathore told reporters.

He said it was for the union government to introduce the Food Security Bill and provide 35 kg wheat at Rs 3 a kg, but the state government wants to take credit by launching such a scheme first.

"This is all for taking credit as the state government has already reduced the monthly quota of wheat to BPL from 35 to 25 kg per month," Rathore said, adding reduction in entitlements by 10 kg could not be tolerated.

He demanded an increase in the monthly quota of wheat to Below Poverty Line (BPL) families from 25 kg to 35 kg per month at Rs 2 a kg.

Rathore warned that if the state government did not raise the quota in the next seven days, BJP will launch an agitation.
